Roblox New Moon Controls Guide Wiki

New Moon is an open-world RPG on Roblox inspired by Demon Slayer. You start as a regular human and slowly build your strength by exploring different regions, fighting enemies, and learning either Breathing Techniques (Slayer path) or Blood Arts (Demon path).

The world is open and progression is based heavily on practice, so knowing the controls early on makes a big difference.

When I first jumped into the game, I spent a while pressing random keys before realizing how much movement and timing matter.

Once you get comfortable with the control layout below, combat and traversal will feel more natural.

Basic Movement & Combat Controls

These are the core inputs you’ll use constantly in fights:

ActionKeyWhat It Does
Shift-LockLeft AltCenters your camera so you can track targets more consistently.
Equip WeaponEDraws your sword or fists to enter combat stance.
Basic AttackM1 (Left Click)Your main combo strike. Repeatedly click to chain hits.
Heavy / Delayed AttackHold M1Slight charge before attacking — useful for spacing or timing.
Critical AttackRA stronger strike that helps break guards or apply pressure.
Parry / BlockFStops incoming attacks if timed correctly. Essential for PvP and bosses.
DashQQuick step to avoid damage or reposition.
FlashstepShift + QA faster, longer dash — helpful for escaping combos.
ClimbSpace near a wallLets you scale vertical surfaces, especially in forests or mountain areas.

Aerial Combat

ActionKeyResult
Air AttackJump + M1Launches enemies upward or continues a combo mid-air.

Tip from personal experience:
Learning timing on F (Parry) and Q (Dash) is what separates new players from confident fighters. Even if your damage isn’t high yet, good defense lets you win fights you “shouldn’t” win on paper.

Menu & Inventory Controls

These help you manage progression and navigation:

ActionKeyPurpose
Open Inventory & AttributesTabView stats, gear, breathing progress, and more.
Main MenuMAccess settings, character management, and system options.
Location Icons / Map MarkersPShows important spots in your current region. Helpful for new players.

Feature Systems You’ll Encounter

Breathing Techniques (Slayer Path)

If you stay human and become a Demon Slayer, you’ll learn a Breathing Style. Each style gives new combat abilities and combos.

You’ll spend time practicing to improve consistency, similar to skill mastery in action games.

Blood Arts (Demon Path)

If you choose to become a Demon, you’ll unlock Blood Art abilities instead. These tend to be more aggressive and are great for PvP playstyles.

Demons trade some safety and mobility for stronger burst damage depending on the Art.

Regions

The map isn’t just cosmetic; different areas have unique enemies, difficulty scaling, and quests. When you feel stuck or underpowered, moving to the right region usually solves the progression gap.

New Moon can feel tough at the start because the game expects you to learn movement and combat timing instead of just leveling stats.

Once your fingers get used to Q (Dash), F (Parry), and R (Critical) in rhythm, fights become a lot more fun and fluid.
